Harry Angus Morgan was born in Melton on 1st June 1890. In 1911, he had followed in his father’s footsteps and was working as a gardener at Foxborough Hall.
Harry was conscripted into the services in 1916 and joined the Army Cyclist Corps. He was first attached to the 52nd Divisional Cyclist Company and then to the 11th Corps Cyclist Battalion. For his war service, Harry received the British War and Victory Medals.
In 1916, Harry married Emma Markham in Eastbourne, Sussex, and, in 1920, they had a son named Kenneth. Harry’s wife Emma died in the summer of 1939. In September of the same year, Harry was recorded as working as a motor accessory salesman and Kenneth as an architect’s assistant. Harry died in 1958.
