Reverend Lawrence Giffard Pollard was the rector at Bredfield and Pettistree between 1912 and 1921. He was visiting chaplain to Foxborough Hall Hospital between April 1915 and April 1916.
Lawrence had prior experience of military life, having been appointed acting-chaplain to the 1st Norfolk (Eastern Division), Royal Artillery in December 1897 as well as serving as chaplain to the Kolar Gold Field Rifle Volunteers in the south of India between 1901 and 1910.
