Ada Brebner was the wife of Robert Nichol Brebner. On 4th August 1914, the day war was declared, Ada became a Red Cross Volunteer undertaking general duties at the various places the Red Cross Hospital was located in and around Woodbridge and Melton. Ada ceased to be a volunteer on 12th December 1915, having given two thousand eight hundred and forty-four hours of her time to the Red Cross.
