Robert and Eliza Green lived in Melton for the majority of their married life. In 1881, they were living on Melton Road and ten years later the family had moved to Does Alley. Of their eight children, only four lived beyond childhood.
Although William, Frederick and Albert were all old enough to take part in the Great War, there are only records to show that Frederick and Albert served.
