The Burrows Family

William Burrows and Ellen Skitter were married at St Mary’s Church, Capel St Mary on 10th April 1893. Soon after, they moved to London where William worked as a gardener. By 1901 they were living in Hampstead, London, with their children, Frederick William, Edmund Charles, Dorothy Ellen and Horace Thomas. In 1902, their son Reginald Alexander was born. A few years later, the Burrows family moved back to Suffolk and set up their home in Tostock near Bury St Edmunds. William continued to work as a gardener, this time for a gentleman farmer. Three more children, Oscar Albert, Cecil George and Christabel Mary, completed the family. When war was declared, the family were living at 15 Prospect Place. Frederick, Edmund and Horace served.
