Caleb was born in Melton on 1st September 1885 and, in the 1911 census, his occupation is stated as a bricklayer’s labourer. A year later in 1912, he married Ellen Brown and the couple moved to Barrack Lane in Ufford where their son, George Henry, was born.
Caleb is listed in the Ufford Magazine of April 1917 as being in one of the services; however, no other military records can be found at this time.
By 1939, Caleb was living in Warwick Avenue, Woodbridge, with his wife Ellen. He died in 1956.
