In 1911, the Bloomfield family were living at Wilford Square, just over the parish boundary with Bromeswell. The family consisted of parents, Joseph and Eliza, and their seven children; sons William, Charles and George and daughters; Jessie, Florence, Edith and Alice. Both William and Edith had left home by that point. The two eldest sons, William and Charles, both served during the war. Although living outside the parish boundary, William was included in Booth’s Almanack Roll of Honour for Melton.
