Jonathon Dickerson and Mary Ann Thompson were married in 1863 in the Woodbridge district. They starter their married life in Martlesham where their first son, Jonathon, was born, after which, they moved to Waldringfield and then Hemley. By 1871, they had two more children, Mary Ann and Frederick. Another ten years later and Rosa, Eliza, Alice and Elizabeth had been born. The family was then completed with the arrival of Arthur and George, both of whom were to serve in the war.
In 1901, Jonathon, Mary Ann, and sons Arthur and George, had moved to Bromeswell and were living next door to their daughter, Rosa, who had married Edward King. Rosa’s husband and three sons all served during the First World War and lived in Prospect Place, Melton.
